A Kirwan woman is floating on cloud nine after claiming her second major Keno win, attributing her latest $89,000 prize to her unique method of picking numbers.

The chirpy North Queenslander scored the Keno Classic 8 spot jackpot in Keno draw 186, drawn Friday 8 May 2026. She bagged a total prize of 89,532.80.

“I’m so excited! I’m over the moon!” she laughed when an official from Keno rang this morning to confirm her prize.

“We’re all so happy. It’s like nothing I’ve ever won before.

“I’ve been trying different methods of playing Keno for a while. Last year, I won a smaller 8 Spot prize with a friend, but this one is all for me.

“I’ve got all sorts of numbers and patterns in my head.

“This time, I put down all numbers with a one in them. I put the number one to 71 on my ticket.”

With $89,000 soon to boost her bank account, the long-time Keno player shared she’d be wise with her prize.

“I’m waiting to see the money first. I want to spend the prize wisely and take my time,” she said.

“I’ll pay my bills and then maybe look at a holiday.”

Her winning Keno Classic entry was purchased at Kirwan Tavern, 154 Thuringowa Drive, Kirwan.
