A Mortdale grandmother has had the surprise of a lifetime and can't wait to spread the happiness after scoring $97,000 in Keno.
The southern Sydney resident scored the Keno Classic 8 Spot jackpot in Keno draw 666, on Thursday 30 April 2026. She bagged a total prize of $97,737.60.
When an official from Keno spoke with the winning woman not long after the draw, she was still at the venue, admitting she was too stunned to drive home.
“I’m so excited! I couldn’t believe it when I saw all my numbers,” she said.
“I haven’t been able to go home yet. I’m worried I might crash the car.
“I’ve got a lot of family including grandchildren and great grandchildren so this will help lots of people.
“One of my grandchildren got me into playing Keno. We always meet up to have lunch or a coffee and put on a game.
“Actually, not long ago on one my first ever games I won the 7 Spot! Now I might see if I’ll win the 9 Spot.
“It’s amazing news. My car has also been playing up lately too so it’s great timing.
“Thank you so much! I’m absolutely thrilled.”
Her winning Keno Classic entry was purchased from St George Masonic Club, 86 Roberts Avenue, Mortdale.
St George Masonic Club team member Wayne Nolland said he was ecstatic for their regular customer.
“We’re over the moon for our winner!” he said.
“Seeing as she only recently won the 7 Spot, I’d say she’s one of our luckiest customers.
“It’s amazing news for our team. It’s wonderful to be a small part of someone’s winning moment.
“Congratulations to her and I hope we have another win soon!”
