A Tasmanian retiree on holiday in Melbourne has been reliving his winning Keno moment after almost having a heart attack while discovering his exciting $133,000 win.

The Apple Isle resident scored the Keno Classic 8 Spot jackpot in Keno draw 159, drawn on Monday 18 May 2026. He bagged a total prize of $133,089.30.

“It’s pretty exciting!” he relayed when an official from Keno confirmed the windfall.

“We’re on holiday in Melbourne. My wife went shopping yesterday and I didn’t want to shop so I took myself to the local hotel.

“While I was there, I watched the replay of the Carlton victory and put on a game of Keno!

“I played 25 games, and by the time it got to the 20th game, I still hadn’t seen a single number come up. I was thinking, ‘This is going terribly!’.

“Then I saw all the eight numbers come up and I almost had a bloody heart attack!

“I can’t stop thinking about it!”

With $133,000 about to boost his bank account, the jubilant man revealed his priority was his family.

“I think we’ll treat our family to a holiday but for now, we’ll take it as it comes!” he shared.

“My wife and I then went out for a celebratory dinner and had a few drinks to celebrate. It was lovely.”

“Thank you!”

His winning Keno Classic entry was purchased at The Mail Exchange Hotel, 688 Bourke St, Melbourne.
