Six days after their winning numbers appeared on the screen, a Dubbo Keno player has discovered a mid-week treat, coming forward to claim their $57,000 Keno Classic 8 Spot prize.

The New South Wales patron held a Keno Classic 8 Spot winning entry in game 6060 played on Thursday 8 October 2020 and took home $57,249.50.

However, how the player plans to use their Keno windfall will forever be a mystery as they have chosen to remain completely anonymous and celebrate in private.

The winning Keno Classic 8 Spot ticket was purchased at Club Dubbo, 82 Whylandra Street, Dubbo.

Club Dubbo Gavin Williams manager said he was thrilled to hear his venue had sold a major Keno prize.

“How good is that! It’s great news for a local!” he exclaimed.

“This is the biggest Keno prize we’ve ever sold in a while.

“We sold a Keno Classic 9 Spot winning entry, but it was decades ago now.

“It’s always good to have a local win, and it’s great we’ve sold it!

“Congratulations to our winner! We wish them all the best!”

Keno spokesperson Bronwyn Spencer said she was sure the latest Keno winner had a spring in their step thanks to their mid-week treat.

“While we may never know exactly how the mystery winner will enjoy their Keno prize, I have no doubt it has put a smile on their dial,” she said.

“In the past, our Keno winners have used their prize to renovate their home, go on family golfing or fishing trips, or book an adrenaline-pumping activity like skydiving.

“However our winner chooses to enjoy their windfall, we are sure they are celebrating winning this fantastic prize!”

Between 1 July 2019 and 30 June 2020, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 58.4 million wins collectively worth more than $776.79 million.

During this time, Keno crowned 17 millionaires and multi-millionaires who collectively took home more than $38.72 million.  Ten of these major winners were from New South Wales and the ACT, including a Newcastle woman who was stunned to pocket a Keno Mega Millions 10 Spot prize of more than $5.4 million.

Players in New South Wales and the ACT enjoyed more than 26.69 million Keno wins totalling more than $386.39 million in the 12 months to 30 June 2020.

Keno players can also enter into the monthly second chance draw for the chance to win $10,000 by scanning their ticket at win.secondchance.keno.com.au.
