A triumphant Pelican man has been left feeling like a ‘Keno king’ after scoring more than $240,000 in a recent game of Keno.

The Lake Macquarie resident scored the Keno Classic 9 Spot jackpot in draw 206, drawn 2 Monday 2 June 2025. He can look forward to a dazzling $248,088.30.

When an official from Keno spoke to the winning man, the regular player shared that he followed a personal strategy of selecting numbers on his Keno coupon that were closer together.

“I’m great today, thanks!” he laughed.

“I’m actually back at the venue having some celebratory beers.

“I’ve gotten out of the hospital recently, so it’s amazing news for me.

“I have a strategy where I choose numbers that are close together. I’ve won a fair bit before, including $10,000 a couple times, so it seems like it’s not a bad way to play.

“You could say I’m a Keno king!

“It’ll really come in handy. I might be able to put it towards a place of my own.

“Thank you so much!”

His winning Keno classic entry was purchased at The Orana Hotel, 20 Pacific Highway, Blacksmiths.

The Orana Hotel partner and licensee David Segreto said the team was over the moon to sell a major Keno winning ticket.

“We were very excited on hearing the win and were waiting in anticipation to see which one of our locals was the winner. We knew it would be life-changing for them,” he said.

“The winner was a very happy guy, and all the locals are thrilled for him. He is now celebrating the win with his friends and locals in the venue.

“He is a loyal friend and has had some health issues in the last year so it’s great to see what this money can do to help him in retirement. We wish him the best of health, happiness and friendship for the future.

“Our motto is ‘Life’s Good at the O’ and how good we can help someone’s life be that little bit better today.”

In 2024, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 76 million wins collectively worth more than $1.19 billion.

During this time, Keno crowned 23 millionaires and multi-millionaires who collectively took home more than $54.9 million. Eleven of these major winners were from New South Wales and the ACT, including an East Maitland dad who scored a $6.6 million windfall.

Players in New South Wales and the ACT enjoyed more than 38.9 million Keno wins totalling more than $599.2 million across the region in 2024.
