Two mates from St Albans Park experienced a rollercoaster of emotions after realising they’d won $1.9 million in a recent Keno draw, with one struggling to hold back tears.

The Geelong residents scored the Keno Classic 10 Spot jackpot in Keno draw 251 on Sunday 22 March 2026. They can look forward to a total prize of $1,935,307.60.

When an official from Keno called one of the winning mates, he was still coming to terms with the reality of his bounty.

“Holy s***! Far out, it’s big!” he laughed.

“My partner, my friend and I were all just sitting there at the local pub and we decided to all pick our own Keno numbers on a ticket.

“The next thing I knew, my partner went up to the Keno screen, and she started carrying on like a pork chop and then my mate burst into tears.

“I just thought to myself, ‘What the hell is going on here?!’.

“That’s when they told me all of our Keno numbers on the second game had appeared and we won the jackpot. I couldn’t believe it!

“It’s life-changing. I’ve been trying to process the win the last few days and to be honest, the celebrations haven’t stopped!

“The win happened on Sunday, and then yesterday we had some mates over for some celebratory beers and now today has been the slowest day.”

The delighted winner already had a couple of things in mind for his share of the $1.9 million Keno win.

“I’ll work for another year and then retire early,” he revealed.

“This will also help with paying off the mortgage.

“Thank you!”

Their winning Keno Classic 10 Spot  entry was purchased at Grovedale Hotel, 236-258 Surfcoast Road, Grovedale.

Grovedale Hotel venue manager Jaydon Wong said it’s an amazing feeling to have sold a major Keno winning entry.

“It’s absolutely fantastic!” he shared.

“When my duty manager Claire sent me a message with a photo of the Keno screen showing that someone had just scored $1.9 million, I was thrilled to hear we’d had such a big win!

“The last major Keno win we had was a Spot 5 in 2023, so this really just takes the cake.

“I’m sure many of our customers will be envious of the big win but so excited for the winners as well. There’s no doubt that this will inspire a lot of our regular Keno players.

“Congratulations from myself and the team at The Grovedale Hotel! It’s such amazing news and I’m sure it’s even more exciting for you.”
