A Kuranda man is feeling electrified this week after scoring more than $60,000 in a game of Keno, allowing him to replace his flooded generator.

The Cairns resident scored the Keno Classic 8 Spot jackpot in draw 451, drawn Monday 10 February 2025, and looks forward to a total prize of $63,333.30.

The gleeful winner was still buzzing with excitement when an official from Keno reached out to him.

“I’m pretty happy!” he said.

“It’s a bit of a life-changing moment. It may not seem like a lot to some but it’s pretty huge for me.

“I went and bought a new generator right away because my last one got flooded. It’ll certainly come in handy. Now I’m ready for any floods.

“It’s not easy with the weather at the moment. I know a lot of people are doing it tough.

“I feel like the universe is looking out for me. I’m a big believer in karma.

“These were my special numbers. I can quote them off by heart and I always stick to them.

“When I realised, they all came up, I couldn’t stop saying ‘Oh my god! Oh my god!’.

“Thank you so much!”

His winning Keno Classic 8 Spot entry was purchased from Barron Falls Hotel Kuranda, 30-34 Coondoo Street, Kuranda.
