A Kingsford man is dreaming of switching up his bustling Sydney lifestyle for tropical Thailand bliss after he landed a $61,000 win in a recent Keno draw.

The Sydneysider scored the Keno Classic 8 Spot winning entry in draw 731, drawn Tuesday 2 January 2024 and looks forward to a total prize of $61,513.20.

The triumphant player was enjoying a warm cup of coffee at his local club when the windfall came about and added a flavourful touch to his day.

“It’s a great way to start the new year,” he revealed.

“It’s my biggest win by far.

“You wouldn’t believe it, a couple of months ago I had missed out on a Keno 9 Spot jackpot prize by just one number. Maybe this win was looming for a while?!

“I had finished a big day at work, and I decided to treat myself to a cup of coffee and a game of Keno at the local club yesterday.

“The next thing I knew, all my eight numbers came up and I had won!

“It was an ideal way to finish the day.

“I’ve been thinking about moving to Thailand for a couple of months for a change of scenery. I might even buy a car there too. This will be a huge help.

“I’ve taken the day off to rest and celebrate.

“Will have to treat myself to a glass of wine!”

His winning Keno Classic 8 Spot entry was purchased at South Sydney Junior League Club, 558A Anzac Parade, Kingsford.

In FY23, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 95.42 million wins collectively worth more than $1.34 billion.

During this time, Keno crowned 20 millionaires and multi-millionaires who collectively took home more than $46 million.   Eight of these major winners were from New South Wales and the ACT, including a Sydneysider who picked up a $3.81 million windfall.
