A Noosa man has confessed he believes it was fate that led him to play Keno a little differently over the weekend and take home an incredible $85,000 prize.

The Sunshine Coast resident scored the Keno Mega Millions 8 Spot jackpot in draw 273, drawn Saturday 26 August 2023 and scored $85,178.40.

“We’d just been out to dinner in town and decided to head to the RSL,” the winner explained when an official from Keno called to confirm his windfall.

“I just had a feeling and it said, ‘go and play a few games of Keno’.

“So, off I went!

“I normally play 10 numbers but on this occasion, fate was telling me to play eight.

“It was the weirdest thing because I’d never done it before.

“It wasn’t too long before this prize started flashing across the screens and people started talking about a big win at the venue.

“I just thought, ‘surely not’.

“But unbelievably, I checked my ticket and got told I’d hit it big!

“Not bad for a quiet night out, hey?

“I’m not even sure I’ve processed it yet, but I know for sure I’ll be upgrading my car and putting a little bit away for the future.

“Fate works in funny ways I guess!”

Their winning Keno Mega Millions 8 Spot entry was purchased at Tewantin Noosa RSL, 1 Memorial Avenue, Tewantin.

The Tewantin Noosa RSL team said they were over the moon for their winning customer and wished them all the best for the future.
