A Townsville man thought his eyes were deceiving him when he realised he’d taken home not just one $50,000 Keno win, but two in last night’s draw.

The North Queenslander held two Keno Mega Millions entries in draw 529, drawn Monday 29 May 2023, and scored $50,000 on each entry – delivering a total prize of $100,000.

“I couldn’t believe it,” he laughed when an official from Keno confirmed the windfall this morning.

“I’ve never won anything so big. This is definitely the most I’ve ever won.

“The Sun Hotel is my usual watering hole. I enjoy going there.

“I didn’t go there last night for anything special. But without a doubt, it will be a night to remember!

“I saw my numbers come up on the screen, and I had to check the tickets immediately.

“I’m not too sure what I’ll spend the prize on. I’m struggling to comprehend the win!

“I know it will go to good use once the prize hits my bank account.”

His winning Keno Mega Millions entries was purchased at The Sun Hotel, 6 Ross River Road, Mundingburra.

In 2022, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 76.25 million wins collectively worth more than $1 billion.
