A Brisbane woman has had an unforgettable holiday in Yeppoon after scoring a Keno 8 Spot prize worth over $64,000 during a night out for dinner with friends.

The Queensland winner held a Keno 8 Spot winning entry in game 512 on Thursday 11 April 2019 that scored a total jackpot prize of $64,443.70.

Speaking with a Keno official today, the woman revealed she was inspired to play Keno after witnessing her friends win some smaller prizes.

“We are holidaying in Yeppoon and we decided to go out for dinner with our friends,” she explained.

“My friends were having a bit of a go on Keno. I wasn’t planning on playing Keno at all but then my friends were having little spot wins of two dollars here, four dollars there that kind of thing.

“I thought ‘I’d better get in on this and I’ll put ten dollars on’ and the numbers that I chose were my family’s birthdays and that’s the numbers that came up!”

Many people may expect her friends to be envious of her win, but the winner revealed they were equally as excited as her that she scored a massive win.

“My friends weren’t jealous at all. They were really happy for us!” she laughed.

“We have young children, so we didn’t do much to celebrate, no raging parties!

“We just came home to our holiday house, relaxed, laughed with our friends for a few hours and woke up this morning pinching ourselves!”.

When asked how she planned to spend her Keno windfall, the ecstatic winner confessed she couldn’t get her head around the win.

“We really haven’t decided how we will spend it!” she said.

“We’ll probably put it towards paying a few little bills that have been hanging over us but apart from that we’ll just put it in the bank.

“We are still in shock to be honest, so we aren’t sure what we’ll do with it.

“Nothing like this has ever happened to us so we are feeling very blessed right now.

“We’re just ordinary people, going out for dinner. The win is pure luck really!

“I just want to sit for a few days, enjoy the rest of our holiday and let it all sink in.”

The happy winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning Keno 8 Spot entry at Keppel Bay Sailing Club, 38 Anzac Parade, Yeppoon.

Keppel Bay Sailing Club Keno Coordinator Teneille Healy said she was thrilled one of her patrons had scored such a great prize.

“It’s so exciting! The team here were so happy for our customer. They were crying happy tears as well!” she exclaimed.

“We’ve sold a few smaller wins of around $10,000 so this is definitely the biggest we’ve sold so far.

“All of our customers are really excited that another patron has won and it’s definitely the talk of the club.

“It’s so exciting to sell a winning entry that will change the lives of our customers. We wish them all the best!”

The woman’s special numbers which scored her the exciting win were 8, 12, 14, 21, 23, 24, 78 and 79.

In 2018, Keno crowned millionaires and multi-millionaires who collectively took home more than million.  of these major winners were Queenslanders.

Queenslanders won million on average each month playing Keno in pubs and clubs across the state.

Last year in Queensland alone, players bought million Keno tickets and won million in cash prizes, including individual 7, 8, 9, and 10 Spot jackpot prizes.
