A West Wallsend man has confessed he’s still wrapping his head around the reality of his prize after bagging more than $260,000 in Keno.
The New South Wales resident scored the Keno Classic 9 Spot jackpot in Keno draw 519, drawn Thursday 26 June 2025. He can look forward to a dazzling $268,569.70.
“I’m still adjusting to reality! It’s a nice win, that’s for sure,” he said while speaking to an official from Keno.
“I put on the ticket but didn’t check it until the next day. I saw the 9 Spot jackpot went off and I remember thinking, ‘This could be good!’.
“Even so, I still wasn’t ready when I realised I actually was holding the winning ticket.
“I mean, you always hope for a win, but it still feels unexpected to really get one!
“It was a nice shock and I’m still very surprised by it.
“I always enjoy playing Keno. I’ve played for years, and I’ve had smaller wins but never one like this.”
When asked how he plans to use his newfound fortune, the gleeful man shared that he would help his family and use it for retirement.
“I’ve got a large extended family that I always like helping, so it’ll come in handy for that,” he explained.
“I’ll also put away a bit for retirement and I’m sure I’ll get something nice for myself too.”
His winning Keno Classic entry was purchased from West Wallsend Workers Club, 51-53 Carrington Street, West Wallsend.
