A Blackheath man was grooving into the weekend with a winning grin after scoring his second-ever major Keno prize, this time winning more than $143,000.
The New South Wales resident scored the Keno Classic 9 Spot jackpot in Keno draw 307, drawn Friday 9 January 2025. He can look forward to a total prize of $143,009.40.
When an official from Keno spoke with the gleeful man, he was giddy with excitement.
“This is the best day. Oh my god. I’m so blessed,” he laughed.
“One hundred and forty-three thousand dollars! Can you believe it?
“Guess what! This isn’t my first time winning the jackpot. Years ago, I won, and I’ve been replaying the same numbers, and they’ve come up again.
“I was sitting there watching the draw, and I started to see my numbers pop up. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. I’m thinking ‘Oh sh**! That’s two and a half grand. Then the ninth number dropped, and I just went ‘Oh my god!’.
“I’m having such a great day. I’m going to open a beer and put some Neil Young on now to celebrate.
“This is too good. I’ll be able to stick it in the bank and save it.
“What a blessing. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!”
His winning Keno Classic entry was purchased from Gardners Inn Hotel, 255 Great Western Highway, Blackheath.
Gardners Inn Hotel Licensee Tony De Bono said he and the team were delighted to be a part of someone’s big win.
“This is probably the biggest Keno win we’ve ever had here, so it’s great news,” he said.
“It’s awesome for our small town. I’ve already put up posters to celebrate.
“Congratulations to the winning man and good luck with your prize!”
