A Yeppoon woman is popping the champagne this week to celebrate a surprise $53,000 Keno win and the heartwarming arrival of another grandchild.

The Capricorn Coast resident scored the Keno Classic 8 Spot jackpot in Keno draw 280, drawn 31 July 2025. She can look forward to a magnificent $53,392.30.

“This is great! So awesome!” she laughed when an official from Keno confirmed the winning news.

"I've played these numbers for years and never expected to win.

“I'm also celebrating becoming a grandmother again! How good.

“I informed my husband, who is currently away, and he couldn’t believe the news. He was in complete disbelief.

“We’ve wanted to buy a house for a long time and now this is possible. Time to visit the bank and see what we can do!

“I’ll definitely be celebrating tonight. Thank you!”

Her winning Keno Classic winning entry was purchased at Krackers Bar and Bistro, S2 Keppel Bay Sailing Club, 20 Bowls Street, Yeppoon.

In 2024, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 76 million wins collectively worth more than $1. billion.

During this time, Keno crowned 23 millionaires and multi-millionaires who collectively took home more than $54.9 million.  Ten of these major winners were Queenslanders, including a Crows Nest man whose favourite numbers scored him $5.5 million.

Queenslanders enjoyed more than 26.9 million Keno wins totalling more than $461.2 million at pubs and clubs across the state in 2024.
