A family catch-up and lunch at the club has sent a Tweed Heads family home with more than they bargained for after an incredible $70,000 Keno boost.
The winning family held a Keno Classic 8 Spot winning entry in draw 637, drawn Sunday 3 July 2022. Their total prize was $70,487.70.
Speaking to a Keno official, one of the winning family members admitted she thought someone was playing a cruel joke on her when she was told of her win.
“We had my mother visiting, so we made sure to get the family together like we always do,” she said.
“Before we sat down, we each picked two numbers and I went and put on a few games of Keno.
“We never even watched the games, so when I went to check the ticket and they told me I’d won a considerable amount of money, I didn’t quite believe it.
“Then the adrenaline kicked in, the tears started to fall, and my hands started to shake.
“I had to get someone else to tell the rest of my family because I couldn’t do it.
“It’s fantastic for us. It will be shared between my family who was at lunch, so it’s going to do some amazing things.
“If you have to share with someone, it’s the best feeling when it’s your family!
“I personally have got a few renovations I’d like to do around the house, and maybe I’ll go on a trip next year.”
The winning entry was purchased at Club Tweed, Cnr Wharf and Florence Streets, Tweed Heads.
The team at Club Tweed said they’re over the moon for their customers and wish them all the best in the future.
