A New Lambton mum can’t shake the thought that she might’ve missed her $460,000 Keno win if it weren’t for her belated Mother’s Day lunch.
The Newcastle resident scored the Keno Classic 9 Spot jackpot in Keno draw 147, drawn Monday 12 May 2025. She can look forward to $460,498.50.
The jubilant winner shared she erupted in screams of joy when she first discovered her windfall.
“It was such a surprise. We were out having a belated Mother's Day lunch when I put some games on. It certainly was a blessing,” she said to an official from Keno.
“I didn’t realise I had won until later that night when I was bored watching the telly. I checked my ticket on the app and my mind exploded.
“I’m so glad I checked it at home because the whole venue would have heard me scream.
“It was certainly a shock, and it still is!
“It was a lovely Mother’s Day already, but this blessing was the icing on the cake.
“To think if we had celebrated Mother’s Day on the Sunday, I wouldn’t have won!”
Still buzzing with adrenaline, the winning woman knew exactly how she planned to use her newfound fortune.
“I plan to put the money in a term deposit, leave it there and then buy a unit when I can,” she said.
“Of course, I’ll be sharing with family as well. It’s going to help a lot of people.
“Thank you so much!”
Her winning Keno Classic entry was purchased from Wests New Lambton, 88 Hobart Road, New Lambton.
