“We’re super!” one of the winning friends laughed while speaking to an official from Keno.
“It’s crazy. There are thirteen of us, and we’re here celebrating a friend's 40th birthday.
“We played a ticket on Sunday, all helping to choose the numbers, then left before checking it.
“It was only today that we remembered to check it as we were walking past the venue. Just as well we didn’t lose it!
“None of us were expecting it! We’re all stoked.
“It’s a great time of year to win, and it’s a nice birthday surprise for our friend!”
Their winning entry was purchased at Arcadia Village Hotel, 7 Marina Parade, Magnetic Island.
Arcadia Village Hotel owner John Shepley said the team were ecstatic about the winning news.
“We’re over the moon for our customers! All the team are so thrilled that we have finally sold a big one!” he said.
“This is our first major prize-winning Keno ticket we’ve sold in six years.
“We’re a small venue but you can always come and have fun with our great staff!
“Best wishes to our winners on your major win! We appreciate your support!”
