A kind-hearted Tasmanian mother named Karen can now look forward to treating herself using her life-enhancing $94,000 Keno win after dedicating the past two decades looking after others.
The woman held a Keno Mega Millions 8 Spot winning entry in draw 131, drawn Monday 21 November 2022, and takes home a total prize of $94,164.50.
An official from Keno reached out to the high-spirited woman hours after her win and was immediately greeted with cheer.
“Ahh, I’ve been waiting for this call!” she joyfully yelled.
“I’m going to put you on speaker, so my daughter can hear!
“I can’t believe this has happened! My mind is so fuzzy right now!
“I couldn’t sleep at all last night, and I decided to play a game of Keno at half past one in the morning.
“Little did I know that I would win $94,000! It’s the best thing I’ve ever done.
“I’ve been asking the universe for something good, and bang, it happened!
“My entire life, I’ve looked after others, and now the universe is looking after me!
“I can’t visit pubs and clubs to play Keno because I’m a carer, but I wouldn’t change it for the world.
“I always say, ‘You have to believe to achieve, and you will get there!’.
“My daughter actually had a major win on Keno a few years ago, and she treated me to an interstate trip - It’s funny how the world comes around.
“I’m so happy!”
When asked how she planned to enjoy her fun money, the Apple Isle resident said she would put it towards treating herself and her daughter.
“The first thing I’ll do is buy my daughter a car. I can’t wait to surprise her,” she said.
“I’ve already told my friend that I’m treating her to a lovely dinner to celebrate!”
