The atmosphere in a local pub turned electric over the weekend as it erupted into celebrations when a Newcastle man landed a $50,000 Keno win.
The New South Welshman matched nine numbers in his Keno Classic 10 Spot entry in draw 578, drawn Saturday 12 August 2023 and took home $50,000.
“It’s unbelievable,” he exclaimed when an official from Keno called to confirm his fun money.
“I was ready to leave the pub after celebrating my mate’s birthday and then everyone in the pub started to go nuts!
“The last Keno game came up and I didn’t even look at it. Turns out I’d won the jackpot in the game!
“We went back to my brother’s place and celebrated. It was a great night.”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his Keno windfall, the gleeful man revealed he was still too shaken up by the winning news to make any immediate plans.
“Honestly, I have no idea. I think I’m just stunned that I won in the first place,” he shared.
“I know it will go to good use though.”
His winning Keno entry was purchased at Hotel Elermore, 145 Croudace Road, Elermore Vale.
