A Toowoomba man has had more than one reason to celebrate over the weekend after marking his wedding anniversary with a thrilling $130,000 Keno win.
The Darling Downs resident scored the Keno Classic 8 Spot jackpot with a x3 Bonus in Keno draw 222, on Sunday 1 March 2026. He took home a total prize of $130,645.20.
The win comes hot on the heels of another major Keno prize in the region, with a different Toowoomba local scoring a $1 million Keno 10 Spot jackpot on his birthday just last weekend.
“It’s very exciting! It’s sunk in a bit this morning, but I sort of still can’t believe it,” the 8 Spot winner laughed.
“I’ve never had a win like this so it’s pretty wild. I’ve been loyal to these numbers for the past 3 or 4 years and I always play the Bonus as well.
“I was having lunch with my wife for our wedding anniversary. We were just sitting down when I watched all the numbers pop up on the screen. Then I saw ‘$130,000’ won here.
“I showed my wife and we just thought, ‘This can’t be right!’. Then we couldn’t wait for the rest of the games on the ticket to finish so we could check it.
“It was the cream on the bloody cake for our anniversary!
“We were only at the venue for about 10 or 15 minutes when all this unfolded.”
When asked how he planned to use his newfound fortune, the gleeful man shared he would be wise with his prize and set himself up with financial advice.
“We’ll probably see a financial advisor,” he said.
“There’s a few things we’d like to do but for now I’m just going to have a chill week, take it all in and celebrate.”
His winning Keno Classic entry was purchased from Federal Hotel, 111 James Street, Toowoomba.
