After years of near misses and even once walking into the club just as his numbers lit up the screen, a Lithgow man is finally raising a glass to his $51,000 win in a recent Keno draw.
The Central Tablelands resident scored the Keno Classic 8 Spot jackpot in draw 243, drawn Thursday 10 April 2025 and looks forward to a total prize of $51,123.80.
The New South Welshman said he’d been playing his special numbers for years and never imagined the day they’d finally be drawn.
“It’s honestly still sinking in!” he laughed.
“I think in one or two days it might start to feel real but for now, I can’t believe it.
“There’s been times I’ve missed out on a major win because I hadn’t played my special numbers. I was even in the club once when they came up on the screen!
“I never thought it would ever happen again.
“The numbers consist of birthdates and my old housemates’ special numbers too.
“Thank you so much!”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his $51,000 windfall, the gleeful man said he was tossing up between a brand-new set of wheels or treating himself to a well-deserved holiday.
“I’m not entirely sure yet. but I’m thinking of buying a nice car or going on a holiday,” he exclaimed.
“One of the two!”
The winning man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning entry at Lansdowne Hotel, 137 Main Street, Lithgow.
