A Launceston woman is eying a birthday holiday of a lifetime after scoring a Keno Classic 9 Spot prize worth over $268,000.

The happy winner held a Keno Classic 9 Spot winning entry in draw 347, drawn Tuesday 5 January 2021 and takes home a total prize of $268,879.50.

Sharing her joy with a Keno official this morning, the stoked winner recounted the moment she discovered the news.

“Amazing! I’m very excited!” she exclaimed.

“I didn’t watch the draw on the app. I just checked my ticket a bit later on which made it even more of a shock.

“When I saw it, I thought it might have been a bit of a hoax, and that it couldn’t be real.

“Once I called you guys to confirm it that’s when it started to sink in.

“I wasn’t at home when I discovered the news, so I thought about keeping it a secret from my husband and surprising him when the money landed in the account.

“But the minute I got home and saw him, I couldn’t wait, and the good news burst out of me! I couldn’t help myself.

“We celebrated last night and will get our friends and family around for a BBQ later on.”

When asked how she planned to enjoy her Keno fun money, the happy woman declared she hoped to celebrate her upcoming milestone birthday in style.

“I think we’ll pop it in the bank and sit on it for a while,” she said.

“I’ve got a big birthday coming up this year, so hopefully by then we can travel and I can take my family away on a big holiday to celebrate!”

The thrilled winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning Keno Classic entry on the Keno app.

Between 1 July 2019 and 30 June 2020, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 58.4 million wins collectively worth more than $776.79 million.
