New hair and a new home are at the top of the shopping list for a Wavell Heights woman who this week scored a Keno prize worth more than $77,000.

The Brisbane resident held a Keno Classic 8 Spot winning entry in game 607 on Tuesday 10 November 2020 and takes home $77,361.90.

However, as she didn’t see her winning Keno numbers drawn, the winner didn’t discover her good fortune until almost two days after the draw.

“I had no idea! I’ve only just checked my ticket now!” she told a Keno official when claiming her prize.

“It was getting late on Tuesday night so I didn’t wait for the draw and went home.

“It’s so exciting! When they told me I’d won, I thought ‘so good!’.

“Life’s so hard and everything is so expensive. I’m stoked, this is such a bonus!”

The regular Keno player explained she had been playing the same set of numbers - “just numbers I like” – for almost four years.

“This is really going to put me back on my feet. This and some other savings I have make a deposit for a home,” she exclaimed.

“I’m also going to get my hair done tomorrow to celebrate!”

The winning Keno entry was purchased at Kedron-Wavell Services Club, 21 Kittyhawk Drive, Chermside.

Kedron-Wavell Services Club Gaming and Marketing Manager Vjorn Bradow said she was thrilled their latest big Keno winner had been united with her prize.

“We did a post on our Facebook page saying we’d sold a winning ticket and urging everyone to come and check their ticket. That post was shared around a bit and people were coming in,” she said.

“We’re so happy to have another Keno winner. We’re always celebrating wins of all kinds in the Club.

“We had a Keno 10 Spot jackpot land here about two years ago. Wins like these get people very excited for the winner and they also hope they might have a chance too!

“We wish our winner all the best with her new haircut and everything!”

Between 1 July 2019 and 30 June 2020, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 58.4 million wins collectively worth more than $776.79 million.

During this time, Keno crowned 17 millionaires and multi-millionaires who collectively took home more than $38.72 million.  Four of these major winners were Queenslanders, including a group of three long-time Cairns friends who scored a Keno Mega Millions 10 Spot prize worth more than $5.9 million.

Queenslanders enjoyed more than 19.49 million Keno wins totalling more than $249.57 million at pubs and clubs across the state in the 12 months to 30 June 2020.

Keno players can also enter into the monthly second chance draw for the chance to win one of five $1,000 prizes by scanning their ticket at win.secondchance.keno.com.au.
