A Merrylands man’s ritual of selecting numbers on his Keno coupon by making patterns has delivered him a $69,000 prize.
The western Sydney man held a Keno Classic 8 Spot jackpot winning entry in game 155 on Tuesday 21 May 2024. His total prize was $69,542.60.
“I had no idea! I didn’t know at all,” the winning man laughed when speaking to an official from Keno.
“Word spread from the club that there had been a win and someone asked me if I’d been in there that day.
“They said, ‘you’d better come down, you might have a winning ticket!’.
“When I scanned the ticket and it revealed the prize, I said, ‘Excuse me?! Are you telling the truth?’.
“When I play Keno, I play the same numbers, but they’re not special, they’re just the corners of the coupon and some in the middle – just a pattern.
“I’ve won small prizes in the past with these numbers, but this is the biggest!
“I’ve got a mortgage and this will take care of most of it, so it’s just excellent!”
His winning entry was purchased at Merrylands RSL Club, 8-12 Miller Street, Merrylands.
