A Murwillumbah woman scored an unreal $77,000 Keno prize on the weekend by using the numbers her husband once dreamt about.

The Tweed Shire resident held a Keno Classic 8 Spot winning entry in game 146 on Saturday 23 July 2022. She won a total prize of $77,930.80.

“It’s taken a few days to sink in,” the winning woman laughed when speaking to a Keno official this morning.

“We play Keno every now and then, but this time we decided to mix it up a bit and choose our own numbers.

“My husband actually had a dream about winning the lottery a few years ago and had a dream with these numbers. So I decided to use some of them on the ticket.

“We weren’t watching the draw and the manager was doing a quiet walk around asking if anyone had a Keno 8 Spot entry. We were the last people he asked. He said, ‘I think you’d better come with me. We’ve had a winner’.

“I was gobsmacked, I had tears and I was a bit wobbly.

“It’s funny as on the way there, we were in the car talking about it. It’s like we manifested this win.

“It’s going to change a lot of things.

“We were impacted by the floods so we’ve been doing a partial renovation. This means we can finish those renovations.

“My husband also says he’s going to get a boat.”

The winning entry was purchased at Murwillumbah Services Club, 10 Wollumbin Street, Murwillumbah.

Murwillumbah Services Club CEO Guy Diven said it was outstanding to see another big Keno win in his venue.

“Our members and staff were ecstatic that someone in our club won a life-changing amount.

“Our last big Keno win was June 2021, when someone won $196,000. Our venue has a rich history of selling large winning entry tickets during our 30-year association with Keno.

“We wish our latest big winner all the best with their prize and congratulations on your win.”

In 2021, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 36.2 million wins collectively worth more than $590.3 million.

During this time, Keno crowned 13 millionaires and multi-millionaires who collectively took home more than $31 million.  Six of these major winners were from New South Wales and the ACT, including Crescent Head neighbours who pocketed a Keno Mega Millions 10 Spot prize of more than $5.8 million.

Players in New South Wales and the ACT enjoyed more than 17.36 million Keno wins totalling more than $292 million at pubs and clubs across the state in 2020.

Keno players can also enter into the monthly second chance draw for the chance to win one of five $1,000 prizes by scanning their ticket at win.secondchance.keno.com.au.
