A Cloncurry woman has spent the week completely oblivious to her $66,000 Keno win, discovering her prize days after the winning draw.

The regional Queenslander held a Keno 8 Spot winning entry in game 749 on Sunday 17 November 2019 and takes home $66,595.

Confirming her surprise windfall with a Keno official this morning, the woman said she’d heard around town that someone had won a major Keno prize.

“I was out at work for days, so I didn’t realise I’d won,” she explained.

“It’s a small town out here and I’d heard around town that someone had won a big Keno prize but hadn’t claimed it yet.

“That’s when I decided to check my ticket and I’m so glad I did! What a fantastic surprise.”

When asked how she planned to enjoy her exciting prize, the winner said she’d wasted no time making plans.

“It’s come at the perfect time, just in time for Christmas!” she exclaimed.

“We’ll be going on one big overseas holiday.

“We’ve already booked it. We booked it straight after discovering the win.

“We might also treat ourselves to a boat!”

The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning Keno 8 Spot entry at Oasis Hotel Motel, 17 Ramsay Street, Cloncurry.

Oasis Hotel Motel manager Debbie Sluggett said she was thrilled her local patron had discovered their win.

“It’s great to have another big win out here in Cloncurry,” she said.

“It’s been a little while since the last one. In 2011 someone won $15,000.

“This just makes me so happy knowing one of our customers has won this prize.

“We have no doubt they will enjoy it!”
