The gold rush continues in Central Queensland with another Yeppoon player taking home a Keno 9 Spot prize – the second in two days.

The local woman held a Keno Classic 9 Spot winning entry in draw 964, drawn Wednesday 5 January 2021. Her total prize was $103,524.40.

The win comes just one day after a Yeppoon man scored a Keno Classic 9 Spot winning entry in draw 492. His total prize was $247,641.50.

When an official from Keno reached out to the winning woman this morning, she was still reeling from the excitement.

“I went into the venue and popped on some Keno tickets, and then I went and chatted to a few people.  I wasn’t watching the draw, so I had no idea the 9 Spot even went off,” she laughed.

“Then someone told me that the prize had been won there and that I should check my ticket because I might have won it. I thought, ‘As if it’s going to be me’.

“But when I did check my ticket, the lady at the counter looked at me with a huge smile and said, ‘It’s you! You’re the winner!’.

“I was so shocked. I kept yelling, ‘What the hell? No way!’. I almost cried.

“I was completely stunned! I never expected to win $100,000!

“It’s unbelievable. It’s amazing!

“I celebrated yesterday afternoon with some coffee and scones. It was a nice way to end the day, but I might have something a bit fancier when I receive the prize.

“Honestly, I am still trying to take it all in. I’ll use my prize to help the family a bit.

“Once Covid restrictions have well and truly lifted, I would like to plan an overseas holiday. For now, though I will just do some small holidays in Australia.

“This prize is going to be used to just really enjoy my retirement, so the timing couldn’t be better.”

The winning entry was purchased at Keppel Bay Sailing Club Inc, Anzac Parade, Yeppoon.

The Keppel Bay Sailing Club Inc team are thrilled for their winner and hope it makes for a great 2022.
