A hardworking Glen Waverley truck driver is thanking his intuition after randomly adding another number to his Keno ticket, only for it to be the final number needed to win the jackpot prize of more than $140,000.

The victorious Victorian scored the Keno Classic 9 Spot jackpot in Keno draw 295, on Thursday 16 April 2026. He pocketed a total prize of $147,932.10.

The cheerful man explained that he didn’t usually play a 9 Spot ticket, but a last minute ‘gut feeling’ inspired him to give it a go.

“I’m going really good now!” he laughed.

“It’s funny because someone once said to me ‘Don’t you find Keno boring?’. I said no but now I can confirm it’s even more fun.

“It’s quite funny. I’ve been running my normal 8 numbers, but I kept seeing this other number pop up while watching draws.

“Today at lunch, on an impulse, I just thought ‘I’ll add that number and do a 9 Spot,’. Next thing I knew, it was the final number I needed! I couldn’t believe it.

“I’d already left the venue, and I was parked in my truck watching the draws as I saw all the numbers come up. I’m honestly over the moon.

“I’ve already told my wife and she started crying.

“It’ll really come in handy for when we retire. I think we’ll do a cruise as well.”

His winning Keno Classic entry was purchased from Mountain View Hotel, 186 Springvale Road, Glen Waverley.

Mountain View Hotel spokesperson Alex Hay said the team was happily sharing in the excitement with their major Keno winner.

“What an incredible win for our patron! It’s always great hearing these winning stories and now we have another one to share with our patrons,” they said.

“We’re thrilled for our customer and we hope to see more Keno winners in our venue soon.

“Congratulations to them. We have no doubt they’ll enjoying their prize!”
