A Yeppoon man has enjoyed more than just a slice of cake at a loved one’s birthday lunch after leaving with a $68,000 Keno win.

The Sunshine State resident scored the Keno Classic 8 Spot jackpot in Keno draw 364 on Tuesday 21 October 2025. He can look forward to a total prize of $68,805.80.

The winning man was still floating on cloud nine when an official from Keno confirmed the winning news.

“We’re still at the venue! It’s all a bit surreal,” he laughed.

“We’re here celebrating a birthday, so it’s a big day of celebrations.

“I didn’t actually see my numbers come up, but I saw the screen say someone in the venue had won. I knew there were two of us playing Keno at the time, so I joked that it had to be one of us.

“I couldn’t believe it was actually me.

“I’ve always used these numbers and stuck with them.

“I once won about $600, but this is a significant step up from that.”

When asked how he planned to use his newfound fortune, the winning man was too stunned to make any immediate decisions.

“Gosh, I’m not sure what I’ll do just yet. I’ll let it sink in and be smart with it,” he said.

“Thank you so much. I’m still in shock.”

His winning Keno Classic entry was purchased at Keppel Bay Sailing Club, 1 Anzac Parade, Yeppoon.

In FY25, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 76 million wins collectively worth more than $1.2 billion.

During this time, Keno crowned 20 millionaires and multi-millionaires who collectively took home more than $57.9 million. Four of these major winners were Queenslanders, including a Townsville man who scored $4.4 million.

Queenslanders enjoyed more than 27.3 million Keno wins totalling more than $450.7 million at pubs and clubs across the state in FY25.
