After 10 days, a Cessnock man has finally come forward to claim his staggering $1.3 million Keno prize and is wasting no time planning a work-free future.
The Hunter Valley resident scored the Keno Classic 10 Spot jackpot in Keno draw 24, drawn Thursday 2 April 2026. He looks forward to a total prize of $1,305,249.80.
While speaking with a Keno official this morning, the winning man recounted the moment he discovered his million-dollar win last night.
“It’s unbelievable! I’m chuffed!” he exclaimed.
“I’ve been playing those numbers for ages and was just about to switch them up. Can you believe it?!
“I usually play a game or two whenever I go out for dinner, and sometimes I forget to check my tickets.
“It wasn’t until I was out for dinner last night that I decided to go and check my recent tickets.
“I’d been gone from the table for 20 odd minutes, so my partner came over to check on me.
“She was just as shocked as me to discover we’d won over one million dollars.”
With a life-changing $1.3 million heading his way, the gleeful man shared he was already planning an early retirement.
“Retirement’s come a lot sooner than expected. I can retire now,” he said.
“I’m honestly still getting over the shock.”
His winning entry was purchased at Cessnock Leagues Club, 1 Darwin Street, Cessnock.
Cessnock Leagues Club operations manager Chris Codd shared he was over the moon to hear a guest had scored a Keno Classic 10 Spot win worth $1.3 million at his venue.
“Our first reaction to the win was a mix of excitement and pride. It’s an incredible moment knowing we played a part in such a life-changing win for one of our guests,” he said.
“Our customers and patrons have been over the moon to hear someone in the venue took home a major Keno prize.
“Congratulations to our major Keno winner – what an incredible result. We hope this brings plenty of happiness and we thank you for your support of our venue.”
