Hard times are easing for an Evans Head woman after she scored an exhilarating $70,000 win in Keno.

The Northern Rivers resident held a Keno Classic 8 Spot winning entry in draw 275, drawn Thursday 3 November 2022, and took home a total prize of $70,094.70.

“I’m still a stunned mullet!” she laughed when confirming her win with an official from Keno.

“I struggled to sleep last night – so much tossing and turning.

“I got up at one point in the middle of the night and I couldn’t stop thinking about the win.

“I can’t believe it. It’s truly life-changing for our family.

“It’s been a hard time for our family, and we can’t wait to ease it with this prize.

“The win is well appreciated!”

When asked how she planned to enjoy her fun money, the winner revealed it would go towards helping her nearest and dearest.

“Our kids need help, so that will be our main priority!” she said.

“We will keep this win on the down low and try to enjoy it for years to come.”

Her winning entry was purchased at Club Evans RSL, 11-13 McDonald Place, Evans Head.

Club Evans RSL CEO Gregory Targett said he couldn’t be happier to have sold a major Keno winning entry to a local woman.

“It’s the best news, and it couldn’t have gone to a better person. It’s absolutely wonderful to have sold a major Keno winning entry after our community has suffered with flooding,” he said.

“I’ve been here since April last year, and it’s great to see a win already land our way. According to the local community, it’s also the highest win.

“Congratulations to the lovely woman and we wish her all the best with her prize.”

In FY22, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 62.2 million wins collectively worth more than $896.7 million.

During this time, Keno crowned 19 millionaires and multi-millionaires who collectively took home more than $30.7 million.  Seven of these major winners were from New South Wales and the ACT, including a Sydneysider who picked up a $3.1 million windfall on Boxing Day while holidaying in Lake Macquarie.

Players in New South Wales and the ACT enjoyed more than 38.1 million Keno wins totalling more than $497.3 million across the region in the 12 months to 30 June 2022.

Keno players can also enter into the monthly second chance draw for the chance to win one of five $1,000 prizes by scanning their ticket at win.secondchance.keno.com.au.
