A Clermont man has declared a purple patch in golf led to his $50,000 Keno win on the weekend.
The Isaac resident held a Keno Classic winning entry in draw 682, drawn Sunday 8 May 2022. He matched nine of the 10 numbers on his entry and took home $50,000.
When an official from Keno reached out to the merry man this morning, he was still processing the thrilling news.
“I couldn’t believe it at first, and I still can’t!” he laughed.
“This is my fifth major winning entry in Keno. It all started when I had a good run playing golf.
“I felt inspired by the winning numbers that came up in the golf game and I’ve used them ever since in Keno. Surprisingly, those numbers have given me four major wins in Keno over the years!
“On Sunday, I was watching football and I put a game of Keno on. I looked up and I saw those exact nine numbers in a line – I was shocked.
“It really topped our Mother’s Day celebrations as well! It’s great!”
When asked how he planned to spend his fun money, the Queenslander shared he would put it towards new solar panels.
“We’re in the process of installing solar panels onto our home, so this has come at a perfect time!”
The winning entry was purchased at Leo Hotel Motel, 16 Capella Street, Clermont.
Leo Hotel Motel owner Les Boal said the entire venue was elated to see a local patron pick up a major Keno win.
“Oh, it’s amazing! It’s the same champ who has won multiple times at our venue and we’re always so happy for him,” he said.
“Over the last couple of years, he’s picked up many wins with the same set of numbers, and it surprises us every time.
“Congratulations to our winner and we truly wish him all the best with his prize! Thank you for always supporting us.”
