A Chelsea man is planning to spend his Christmas break searching for his first home after a $52,000 Keno win yesterday delivered a massive boost to his house deposit.
The Victorian player held a Keno Classic 8 Spot winning entry in draw 36, drawn 22 December 2021, and took home a $52,095.50 prize.
Confirming his win with an official from Keno this morning, the ecstatic winner explained it was a moment he’d never forget.
“I’ve been playing the same numbers for ages,” he explained.
“And yesterday, they finally all came up!
“When I realised they were all on the Keno screen, I counted them over and over again.
“It was unbelievable. I thought I was seeing things!”
When asked what he thought he might do with his Keno prize, the regular Keno player explained it was the perfect boost to help him get ahead.
“It’s going to go towards a deposit for a new home,” he declared.
“I’ve been saving and saving, so this is a massive help for me.”
The Keno Classic winning entry was purchased at Longbeach RSL, 4 Thames Promenade, Chelsea.
Longbeach RSL Duty Manager Olivia Mills said it was the biggest Keno winning entry the venue had sold.
“We were so excited to see this prize go to one of our patrons, especially so close to Christmas,” she said.
“The atmosphere here was electric when the win occurred.
“A huge congratulations to our winner. We are so happy for him!”
In the 12 months to 30 June 2021, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 64 million wins collectively worth more than $853 million.
During this time, Keno crowned 19 millionaires and multi-millionaires who collectively took home more than $43.69 million. One of these major prize winners were from Victoria, including a Reservoir mum who won a Keno Mega Millions 10 Spot prize of more than $6.8 million.
