A Mount Gravatt man has enjoyed more than just cake at a loved one’s birthday dinner after he left with a $54,000 Keno win.
The Brisbane resident scored a Keno Classic 6 Spot prize in draw 726, drawn Wednesday 7 May 2025, and pocketed $54,000.
The winning man was still revelling in the joy when an official from Keno called to confirm the thrilling news.
“I’m great, thanks mate! It’s excellent,” he said.
“We were out for dinner for a family birthday, so it was just the cherry on top of a great night.
“Everyone was picking a few numbers, and we had a couple of tickets on. It was great fun.
“We were honestly just playing for something to do. I wasn’t expecting to win more than what the ticket was worth.
“We were watching the game when all the numbers came up. I had to triple-check I was seeing things correctly.
“Years ago, I won $3,600 on Keno. That was huge. Now look at this!”
When asked how he planned to spend his $54,000 prize, the delighted dad said it would be put to good use.
“It’s going to be very helpful,” he shared.
“My daughter’s birthday is coming up, so it’ll come in handy for that. Then I’ll have a think about what else we’ll do.”
His winning Keno Classic entry was purchased at Beach House Bar & Grill Garden City, Town Square, Garden City, 2079 Logan Road, Upper Mount Gravatt.
Beach House Bar & Grill Garden City team member Connor McGinty said the team was ecstatic about selling a major prize-winning entry.
“It was quite a surprise! We’re all very excited,” he said.
“I was working when it happened. One of the other team members came running in and said, ‘I think this guy has just won $54,000!’.
“We all rushed to see because we’ve never had a huge win like that. It’s amazing.
“Congratulations to the winning man and well done on the numbers you chose!
“We hope to see some more wins here soon.”
