A Rooty Hill mum is ringing in the week as a newly made multi-millionaire after her very first game of Keno landed her an astonishing $2.9 million windfall.

The Sydneysider scored the Keno Classic 10 Spot jackpot in draw 151, drawn Friday 3 November 2023, and pocketed a total prize of $2,960,137.10.

The joyful woman shared she had been waiting for her husband at the local venue when she decided to play a game of Keno to pass the time.

“I can’t get my head around this!” she laughed.

“It still hasn’t sunk in. Our lives are about to change!

“We decided to go to the local pub after work just for a bit of entertainment. I was in the mood to go out and I said to my husband, ‘Let’s go out! Let’s go out!’.

“It wasn’t until I was waiting for my husband that I decided to put on a game of Keno.

“I didn’t know how to play so I went up to the team member and asked to put on a ticket. I just chose random numbers and went back to sit at my table.

“I asked if the team member at the venue could check my ticket but because the last game wasn’t drawn, he said it would void my ticket. I stayed put and waited until the last game had been drawn.

“Some time had passed, and I noticed there were all these people gathering around the Keno television.

“The team member came up to me and said, ‘I think you’ve won! I think you’ve won $2.9 million!’.

“I couldn’t believe it. I ran up to my husband and we immediately left the pub. We didn’t know what to do!

“We still don’t know where to start. This is life-changing.”

With $2.9 million about to boost her bank account, the New South Wales woman couldn’t wait to pick up the keys to her very own family home.

“We’re renting, so we’re excited to buy our very own home,” she said.

“We’re also going on a family holiday soon, and we will be able to celebrate all together.

“Thank you so much, Keno!”

Her winning entry was purchased at West HQ, Rooty Hill, 55 Sherbrooke Street, Rooty Hill.
