A pair of Moorooka mates will forever cherish the moment their eight Keno numbers came up on the screen in their local venue and scored them an exciting $106,000 win.

The Brisbane residents scored the Keno Classic 8 Spot jackpot in draw 928, drawn Monday February 2024 and took home a total prize of $106,189.90.

The dynamic duo were still reeling from the excitement days after scoring the prize and relayed how the momentous moment came about.

“I just cried,” the winning woman revealed.

“A lot of tears, happy tears!

“We were out for dinner, and my friend asked if I wanted to play a game of Keno.

“He walked over and showed me the numbers he chose. They were just random numbers. I joked around and said to him, ‘Oh yeah! We’ll get two numbers with those!’.

“The next thing we knew, all of the eight numbers had come up on the Keno screen and we had won $106,000! It’s amazing.

“We’re club members at The Willow Hotel and we’re glad they were able to have the win at their venue.

“They were so excited for us. They took a photo of the screen immediately and went into celebration mode!

“Thank you so much.”

The jubilant mum wasted no time revealing how she would enjoy her share of the prize, explaining it would go towards a lavish holiday in North Queensland and helping her family out.

“I’m a single mum, so this will be a huge help!” she exclaimed.

“And oh god, I haven’t had a holiday in over five years. I think it’s about time! I’ll be booking a nice holiday at Daydream Island in The Whitsundays.

“Then I’ll pay off some bills and complete normal day to day stuff.”

Their winning Keno 8 Spot entry was purchased at The Willow Hotel, 215 Beaudesert Road, Moorooka.

The Willow Hotel owner Peter Braithwaite said the hotel was electric with excitement when everyone realised a major Keno winning entry had been sold there.

“There was such a buzz when the Keno jackpot went off in our venue on Monday, and all of our patrons were so excited for the winners,” he said.

“It’s great news for the local community in Moorooka, and there’s no doubt locals will be visiting us in the hopes of scoring a major prize at our venue.

“A win of this amount is very special as it’s our very first time we’ve sold an entry worth over $100,000!

“We wish nothing but the best for the winning pair and we hope they can come back and share their tips about the win!”
