A Manly man is sporting a winning smile today after scoring a Keno 9 Spot prize worth over $143,000.

The Queensland man held a Keno 9 Spot winning entry in game 450 on Friday 5 July 2019 that scored a total prize of $143,779.50.

Confirming his win with a Keno official this morning, the man explained how a lunch break led to his 9 Spot win.

“On Friday I was doing some housework and thought I’d go down to the Manly Hotel to have some lunch and play some Keno for a bit of a break,” he revealed.

“I didn’t see my numbers come up because I was chatting with some mates. I heard someone won so I went up and checked my ticket and that’s when they told me.

“My heart fluttered when I found out. It was amazing!

“I was in a great mood, so I shouted everyone a round of drinks to celebrate.

“I started playing a few years ago because my dad played. It’s been a bit of a tradition ever since.

“I won an 8 Spot prize a few years ago and now I can add a 9 Spot to my list of wins. Hopefully I can win a 10 Spot prize next.”

The Queensland player said he had plenty exciting plans for his prize.

“I am going to help my family and friends. A big chunk of it will go to them,” he shared.

“I want to get my teeth fixed. I have been wanting to do it for ages, but it hasn’t been a priority but now I am going to.

“I also want to get a motorbike. I’ve been dying to get one!”

The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning Keno entry at Manly Hotel, 54 Cambridge Parade, Manly.

Manly Hotel Marketing & Communications Officer Samantha Ironmonger said they were celebrating selling their second major Keno win.

“The quote “you’re merchants of fun, you’re brokers of good times!” definitely applies to the excitement that is generated from being part of a substantial Keno win. It is such a boost for our customer service team and customers all-round,” she said.

“Excitement is contagious, and our patrons love a good celebration!

“It is delightful news and we couldn’t be happier for the Keno winner. We are so pleased as a venue, we can share in the memories of and contribute to such an amazing, life-changing experience for our lucky patron.

“It is just another reason for people to make the trip to Manly Harbour Village and enjoy the entertainment on offer at this neighbourhood gem.”
