Despite winning a $127,000 Keno prize on her birthday, a Wheelers Hill woman will generously spend most of her winnings on a brand-new set of wheels for her mum.
The Melburnian scored the Keno Mega Millions 8 Spot Jackpot in draw 648, drawn Tuesday 27 February 2024 and took home a total prize of $127,776.10.
The winning woman shared she had been feeling a bit under the weather on her birthday and so decided to put on a game of Keno to pass the time while lying in bed.
“It’s so exciting!” she laughed.
“Happy birthday to me! What an awesome present!
“I’m stuck at home feeling a bit unwell, and I thought I’d just jump on and play my favourite numbers.
“It was like the universe was trying to make me feel better. I can’t believe it.
“I have decided to buy my mum a brand-new car. I was feeling terrible earlier, so I asked her to come over with a coffee.
“As soon as she walked through the door, she said to me, ‘I bought you a coffee!’ and I responded with, ‘I’m going to buy you a brand-new car for your birthday!’. She was shocked!
“If there’s anything else left over, I’ll treat myself.
“Thank you so much.”
