An Ingleburn man was left breathless, quite literally after his $55,000 Keno win left him choking on his tuna sandwich.
The Sydneysider scored the Keno Classic 7 Spot jackpot in draw 15, drawn Saturday 15 February 2025, and took home $55,195.90.
The gleeful winner was still reeling with excitement when an official from Keno called to confirm the wondrous news.
“It’s super!” he said.
“I’ve been playing for years. I’ve got five numbers a few times but never all seven.
“I was sitting there having my lunch, and I gave a team member my ticket to cash in, thinking I had won $1,000.
“She came running back saying I had won the big one and I choked on my tuna sandwich!
“I’m happy and I live under my means, but this is going to make things a little easier.”
When asked how he planned to use his newfound treasure, the generous winner shared he couldn’t wait to pay it forward.
“I look forward to giving back where I can.
“When I play these things, it’s not about winning but how I’ll be able to help others.
“It’s a lovely feeling. It’s absolutely brilliant. Thank you so much.”
His winning Keno Classic entry was purchased at Ingleburn RSL Club, 70 Chester Road, Ingleburn.
The Ingleburn RSL Club team were over the moon for their winning customer and wished him all the best with his prize.
