A Wangaratta truckdriver has declared he is ‘so far over the moon he is doing laps around Jupiter’ after scoring a Keno 9 Spot prize worth over $207,000.

The Victorian player held a Keno Classic 9 Spot winning entry in game 790 on Thursday 29 April 2020 and takes home $207,989.40.

Sharing his excitement with a Keno official this morning, the regular player revealed the win was a great surprise during his workday.

“It was a surprise to see I had won! Bloody amazing!” he declared.

“I drive long distances for work and I was halfway to Sydney when I stopped and put a few dollars on a game and when I checked it at the next stop, I saw I had all nine numbers.

“You could say I’m as happy as a pig in mud!

“I’m over the moon if I win anything at all let alone $200,000! I am more than over the moon. I’m doing laps around Jupiter at the moment!”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his prize once he came back down to Earth, the happy man confessed it had come at the perfect time for him.

“I have just bought a new car so now I’ll be able to pay it off, pay off the rego and relax knowing I can get to work,” he said.

“I hadn’t been able to work for a little while because I didn’t have a car to get me there, so it’s good to know I have reliable transport now.”

The winner also revealed he had not had a chance to celebrate the win.

“Well, I’m heading straight back to work today and couldn’t celebrate last night because I was driving,” he explained.

“I’m looking forward to getting home and having a cold drink to celebrate.”

The happy man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his Keno Classic 9 Spot winning entry on the Keno app.

In the 12 months to 30 June 2019, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 64 million wins collectively worth more than $853 million.

During this time, Keno crowned 17 millionaires and multi-millionaires who collectively took home more than $47.2 million. This included a Baxter man who didn’t discover he had won a Keno 10 Spot prize of $1,541,399.90 until a fortnight after the draw.

Victorians enjoyed more than 4.48 million Keno wins totalling more than $68 million at pubs and clubs across the state in the 12 months to 30 June 2019.

About Keno

Keno is a fun game played at more than 3,400 pubs and clubs across Queensland, New South Wales, the ACT and Victoria.

A Keno draw occurs approximately every three minutes. During each draw, 20 numbers are drawn from 1 to 80. Players simply match the numbers on their entry to the numbers drawn for a chance to win over $1 million.

There are a range of Keno games to play, including Keno Mega Millions – a higher jackpot version of Keno Classic that uses the same Keno ball draw but gives players the chance to win $5 million or more.
