A Geelong mum admitted she went to bed thinking she’d won a $5,000 Keno prize but woke up to discover she had actually won a “magic” $93,000!
The Victorian player held a Keno Classic 8 Spot winning entry in game 129 on Thursday 9 July 2020 and takes home a prize worth $93,380.00.
Speaking with an official from Keno this afternoon, the overjoyed woman relayed how the excitement unfolded.
“Well actually I was laying in bed, about to go to sleep and every now and again I like to play Keno for a bit of fun,” she explained.
“I was watching the draw and I saw all the numbers come up!
“I thought ‘Voilà! Magic!’.
“But I actually didn’t see how much I won, and because I don’t play that often, I thought I might have won maybe $5,000 or something like that.
“Then I went to sleep and when I woke up, I went back online to have a look at exactly what my prize was and that was a very different story!
“I kept thinking ‘is this real? No way!’.
“It’s wonderful! I just can’t believe it. Holy dooley!
“At the moment I can’t really do too much, but I think I will order some takeaway for dinner and get something special to drink. This is worth celebrating.”
When asked how she planned to enjoy her fun money, the emotional winner said life would now look very different now thanks to her win.
“This has changed my life forever. It is a huge win for me! It’s incredible,” she shared.
“I can finally buy myself a house! I am going to start looking online. It’s so exciting!”
The happy winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her Keno Classic 8 Spot winning entry on the Keno app.
In the 12 months to 30 June 2019, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 64 million wins collectively worth more than $853 million.
During this time, Keno crowned 17 millionaires and multi-millionaires who collectively took home more than $47.2 million. This included a Baxter man who didn’t discover he had won a Keno 10 Spot prize of $1,541,399.90 until a fortnight after the draw.
