A Victoria Point man has had a Wednesday at his local club that he will never forget, scoring more than $110,000 on Keno.

The south-east Queenslander held a Keno Classic 8 Spot winning entry in draw 758, drawn 24 November 2021, and scored $113,440.30.

Confirming his win with an official from Keno this morning, the retiree confessed it took some time for the exciting news to sink in.

“I didn’t believe it initially,” he laughed.

“A few people were walking around the club saying that someone had won an 8 Spot prize.

“I didn’t think it could be me, but I thought I’d better check my ticket.

“I was over the moon! It was very exciting. I’ve never won anything like it in my life.

“We’re going to buy some new furniture for the house.”

The life-changing entry was purchased at Victoria Point Sharks Sporting Club, 325 Colburn Avenue, Victoria Point.

Victoria Point Sharks Sporting Club General Manager Michael Milanovic said he was ecstatic for his regular patron.

“I think he was in shock when he realised he’d won such a large prize,” he explained.

“All our other patrons were so thrilled to know a jackpot had been won in the club.

“This would have to be close to the biggest win we’ve had.

“Congratulations to him. We couldn’t be happier for you!”

In the 12 months to 30 June 2021, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 64 million wins collectively worth more than $853 million.

During this time, Keno crowned 19 millionaires and multi-millionaires who collectively took home more than $43.69 million. Eight of these major prize winners were from Queensland, including a Gladstone man who won a Keno Classic 10 Spot prize of $2.16 million.

Queenslanders enjoyed more than 25.35 million Keno wins totalling more than $312.79 million at pubs and clubs across the state in FY21.
