A Townsville mum says she’s on top of the world after discovering she’s almost half-a-million dollars richer from scoring a Keno 9 Spot jackpot prize.

The North Queensland woman held the Keno 9 Spot winning entry in game 284 on Friday 23 August 2019. Her entry scored a Keno jackpot prize of $464,135.90.

Confirming her win with a Keno official this morning, the winner revealed she had no idea she’d won a major prize until yesterday.

“I’m on top of the world!” she laughed.

“Thank you! This is all a little bit exciting.

“I had no idea I’d won until yesterday. I bought the ticket on Friday, then over the weekend I heard they were looking for someone who had won a major Keno prize down at the pub.

“All night I dreamt about Keno, until I went and checked my ticket yesterday.

“I don’t think the news has sunk in yet. This is life-changing!”

The generous mum revealed she’d keep working but would use her prize to fulfil a lifelong dream.

“I’ve always wanted to buy a motorhome and travel around Australia so I will definitely be doing that!” she declared.

“We’re going to spoil the kids, pay a few bills and pay the mortgage off.

“Then the rest is probably going to go in the bank.”

The hardworking woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning Keno 9 Spot entry at Oonoonba Hotel Motel, 78 Abbot Street, Oonoonba.

Oonoonba Hotel Motel duty manager Julie-Anne Anderson said she was thrilled to see the win had gone to a local and regular patron.

“This win has certainly got everyone at the hotel talking,” she said.

“It was very exciting here on Friday when we realised someone at the venue had won a massive prize. This is the first big Keno win for us!

“Congratulations to her! We are sure she’s going to enjoy her prize.”

In the 12 months to 30 June 2019, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 64 million wins collectively worth more than $853 million.
