A Townsville man’s quest for a new car has hit top gear after scoring a $57,000 Keno prize on the weekend.

The North Queenslander held a Keno Classic 8 Spot winning entry in draw 920, drawn 23 October 2021. He scored $57,510.50.

“We had a really, really great night!” the happy man exclaimed.

“That was good! It certainly made for an eventful evening.

“I play Keno every time I’m in the club. I pick my numbers – ones that are special to me.

“I was just at the club on Saturday with some mates, and one of them noticed a win had been won there. I didn’t know as I didn’t watch the draw.

“My car needs replacing, so this comes in very handy. I’ve got a fair idea of what I want and I’ve had my eye on one for a while.”

The winning Keno Classic 8 Spot entry was purchased at Townsville RSL, 139 Charters Towers Road, Hermit Park.

Townsville RSL duty manager Corrie Grant said it was great to see another win land in the club.

“It’s a great win!” she exclaimed.

“We’ve had a few since I’ve been here and it’s definitely good to see another one.

“We wish our winner all the very best and hope they enjoy their prize to the fullest.”

In the 12 months to 30 June 2021, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 64 million wins collectively worth more than $853 million.

During this time, Keno crowned 19 millionaires and multi-millionaires who collectively took home more than $43.69 million. Eight of these major prize winners were from Queensland, including a Gladstone man who won a Keno Classic 10 Spot prize of $2.16 million.

Queenslanders enjoyed more than 25.35 million Keno wins totalling more than $312.79 million at pubs and clubs across the state in FY21.

Keno players can also enter into the monthly second chance draw for the chance to win one of five $1,000 prizes by scanning their ticket at win.secondchance.keno.com.au.

About Keno

Keno is a fun game played at about 3,500 pubs and clubs across Queensland, New South Wales, the ACT and Victoria.

A Keno draw occurs approximately every three minutes. During each draw, 20 numbers are drawn from 1 to 80. Players simply match the numbers on their entry to the numbers drawn for a chance to win over $1 million.

There are a range of Keno games to play, including Keno Mega Millions – a higher jackpot version of Keno Classic that uses the same Keno ball draw but gives players the chance to win $5 million or more.
