A Kurunjang woman who spontaneously decided to play a couple of games of Keno before the footy kicked off yesterday evening, has won herself a $60,000 Keno prize, leaving her feeling like the night’s biggest winner.

The Victorian scored the Keno Classic 8 Spot jackpot in draw 936, drawn Thursday 21 March 2024 and took home a total prize of $60,579.50.

“It’s amazing! I’m still in shock,” the winning woman laughed when an official from Keno called to confirm her windfall.

“I’d only just gotten home after work, and before the footy started, I just thought I’d jump on the Keno app.

“After watching a couple of games, I decided to choose a bunch of numbers in a row.

“I watched the first game, then the second game, and on the third game, I watched every number drawn and my jaw hit the floor.

“Third game’s the charm!

“I thought, ‘no, this can’t be right!’.

“The win popped up and I ran straight into my husband and said, ‘I’ve just won sixty grand’.

“My kids ran into the room because they heard me and after it was verified by my family, we all just looked at each other and laughed.”

When asked how she planned to spend her prize, the elated winner said she’d prepare for the future and share it with her family.

“This is going to be a huge boost for our family and is going to be a real life-changer,” she said.

“There’s been plenty of tears.

“Thank you so much.”

About Keno

Along with being played in over 3,500 pubs and clubs in Victoria, Queensland, New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory, Keno can now be played anywhere with the Keno app in the ACT and Victoria.

A Keno draw occurs approximately every three minutes. During each draw, 20 numbers are drawn from 1 to 80. Players simply match the numbers on their entry to the numbers drawn for a chance to win over $1 million.

There are a range of Keno games to play, including Keno Mega Millions – a higher jackpot version of Keno Classic that uses the same Keno ball draw but gives players the chance to win $5 million or more.
