A Condobolin man is attributing his life-enhancing $56,000 Keno win to his friend after he convinced him to add an additional number to his entry.

The regional New South Wales player held a Keno Classic 8 Spot winning entry in draw 367, drawn Wednesday 6 July 2022 and took home a total prize of $56,785.60.

The winning entry was unregistered, which means Keno officials had no way of contacting the winner and had to wait for him to come forward to claim his fun money.

Speaking with an official from Keno this morning, the winning man relayed how the exciting moment unfolded.

“I’m super stoked. It’s a great win!” he laughed.

“My son and I went to the local club for a night out, and while we were there, we played two games of Keno in two separate draws.

“In the first game, we were one number off winning a major Keno prize. We thought, ‘Oh bugger, let’s try one more game for a bit of fun’.

“When we were deciding the numbers for the second game, I remembered my friend told me, ‘You should step it up to another number’.

“I decided to add another number to the same set of numbers we played in the earlier game. So, instead of seven numbers, we had eight! I couldn’t believe it. It scored us $56,000!

“I’ve been playing Keno for a good while now – probably for 20 years! It’s good fun. I won $12,000 in Keno about 10 years ago, so it’s great to have won again.

“I’ll share the love and give the prize to family members!”

His winning Keno Classic 8 Spot entry was purchased at Condobolin RSL Club, 20 McDonnell Street, Condobolin.

The Condobolin RSL Club manager James Bennett said he was elated to see a local patron score an exciting prize from their venue.

“This is really exciting for the Condobolin community, and we’ve been sharing the news with everyone,” he exclaimed.

“Everyone’s been wondering who the winner is, and we’re happy to see the winner has come forward to claim their prize.

“This is our first major Keno win at the venue, and we can imagine it’s the start to many more.

“Congratulations to the man who has won this $56,000 prize and thank you for supporting us.”

In 2021, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 36.2 million wins collectively worth more than $590.3 million.
