A Gold Coast man received the shock of his life yesterday when he purchased a Keno entry and watched all ten numbers appear in his first game.

The winning Queenslander held a Keno Classic 10 Spot winning entry in draw 99, drawn Monday 9 May 2022. His total prize was $1,319,658.60.

Speaking to a Keno official, the regular Keno player said he was in disbelief when the numbers rolled in and turned his life upside down.

“We’ve had some tough times of late, so having won this incredible prize it really feels like things are turning around,” he said.

“I like to play a bit of Keno when I get the chance but I’ve never won anything like this.

“For it to happen on the first game on the ticket too was amazing.

“I was at the pub with a few mates and we were all in shock, so we had to sit around and watch the rest of the games play out too.

“It’s going to give my family and I the freedom we’ve always dreamed of.

“I’ll pay off our mortgage, go back to work for a little while and then consider what to do with the rest of my life.

“This really is incredible!”

His winning entry was purchased at Robina Pavilion, Commerce Drive, Robina.

Robina Pavilion General Manager Damien Stephen said it was incredibly exciting to have sold a major Keno winning entry and wished the winner the best of luck in the future.

“It’s the largest win I’ve been a part of so for all of us it was amazing to see,” he said.

“Great news travels fast and we’ve already had people coming into the venue to ask what happened, who the winner was and what the entry was. “We understand the winner has been doing it tough so it’s fantastic that Robina Pavilion was able to be part of something great for him.

“We’re all hoping we have another incredible win here very soon!”

In 2021, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 36.2 million wins collectively worth more than $590.3 million.
