A Warrawong man is thanking a spur-of-the-moment decision on the way he plays his Keno numbers for a $58,000 Keno Classic 8 Spot windfall he scored while out with friends.

The New South Wales patron held a Keno Classic 8 Spot winning entry in game 112 on Sunday 20 September 2020 and takes home a prize of $58,299.00.

Confirming his exciting win with a Keno official today, the happy winner revealed his unusual way of choosing his Keno numbers.

“I’ve been playing Keno for decades, and this is the first time I’ve won anything this big!” he exclaimed.

“I have been playing the same numbers for years. I always play a cross pattern on the ticket.

“Last week, I decided to change it to a ‘T’ shape instead.

“A few days later, I won! I couldn’t believe it!

“I was sitting talking to some friends, and the guy behind the bar said ‘check your tickets! Someone from here has won!’.

“So I checked my ticket and saw that I had all the winning numbers. I thought ‘oh my god! God must be looking down on me!’.

“I bought my friends a round of drinks to celebrate!”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his windfall, the thrilled winner revealed he was eyeing off a new car.

“I really, really need a new car. So that’s what I’ll buy with my prize” he declared.

“I’m not sure which one I’ll get yet, but I’m excited to go for some test drives!”

The happy winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning Keno Classic 8 Spot entry at Open Hearth Hotel Warrawong, 53-57 King Street, Warrawong.

Open Hearth Hotel Warrawong manager Pongtana Sintana said he was thrilled his outlet had sold its first major prize in a while.

“It’s been a little while since we’ve sold a major prize, so we are very happy that a local and a regular has won!” he exclaimed.

“It’s created a great buzz in our venue, and all of our customers are very excited.

“Congratulations to our customer! We wish him all the best!”
