A Newcastle woman is still coming to terms with the fact she’s suddenly a multi-millionaire after scoring a life-changing Keno Mega Millions prize of more than $5 million.

The New South Wales player held a Keno Mega Millions 10 Spot winning entry in game 527 on Friday 24 January 2020 and takes home $5,400,606.50.

Confirming her life-changing win with a Keno official this morning, the woman revealed she was still in shock.

“I’m so grateful,” she laughed.

“I was completely stunned.

“I couldn’t believe it. I still can’t to be honest.

“I always play the same numbers but I wasn’t watching the Keno screens when my numbers appeared.

“Everyone in the venue was asking who it could be and when I checked my ticket one million things were going through my mind.

“It’s an incredible prize. It’s unbelievable!”

When asked how she planned to enjoy her multi-million-dollar prize, the Newcastle winner said plenty of people would be benefiting from the win.

“I definitely want to help out lot of people,” she explained.

“I will be sharing my prize.

“But the rest, I need to just think about.

“It’s a huge prize and I need to just let the news sink in.”

The winning Keno 10 Spot Mega Millions entry was purchased at The Kent Hotel - Hamilton, 59-61 Beaumont Street, Hamilton.

In the 12 months to 30 June 2019, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 64 million wins collectively worth more than $853 million.

During this time, Keno crowned 17 millionaires and multi-millionaires who collectively took home more than $47.2 million.Nine of these major winners were from New South Wales and the ACT, including a Newcastle man who pocketed the biggest Keno jackpot in Australian history - a Keno Mega Millions 10 Spot prize worth $7,898,799.30.

Players in New South Wales and the ACT enjoyed more than 34.19 million Keno wins totalling more than $472.51 million at pubs and clubs across the region in the 12 months to 30 June 2019.
