A Cecil Hills father has joked he may need an extra shot of coffee this morning after a sleepless night following his astonishing $240,000 Keno win yesterday afternoon.

The Western Sydneysider scored a Keno Classic 5 Spot prize with a x3 Bonus in draw 631, drawn Sunday 4 August 2024. He looks forward to a total prize of $240,000.

“It’s absolutely crazy!” the winning man screamed when an official from Keno called to confirm his prize.

“I spent all night racking my brains trying to figure out how I got here!

“Everything just seemed to line up yesterday. The stars aligned for me.

“I rarely play Keno and for some reason, I made a spur-of-the-moment decision to play yesterday.

“I chose a few special numbers and a couple of random numbers, not expecting much.

“I saw a few of my numbers match and I knew I’d won something, but I really had no idea how much.

“It wasn’t until I went up to the counter and the team member told me I’d won $240,000 that my whole body started to shake.

“It’s been a wild 24 hours – I think I may need an extra shot of coffee this morning!”

His winning Keno Classic 5 Spot entry was purchased at Club Marconi, 121 Prairie Vale Road, Bossley Park, NSW.

In 2023, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 67.31 million wins collectively worth more than $1 billion.

During this time, Keno crowned 21 millionaires and multi-millionaires who collectively took home more than $51.5 million.  Eleven of these major winners were from New South Wales and the ACT, including a Shelly Beach dad who scored a $5.92 million windfall.

Players in New South Wales and the ACT enjoyed more than 36.33 million Keno wins totalling more than $529.1 million across the region in 2023.
